GLOBAL ADVOCACY

President's Malaria Initiative

Malaria Advocacy
Working Group (MAWG)

Global Fund

Voices works to build strong global partnerships, strengthen the voice of endemic country malaria advocates and facilitate information sharing to develop the global leadership necessary for successful malaria control. Voices strives to promote accountability, harmonize advocacy messaging, equip African advocates and southern NGO networks to be active participants in global decision making, and enhance partner collaboration.

Globally, the work of Voices aims to cultivate the active engagement of malaria champions at the global level, along with helping ensure African advocates and southern partners are linked into key global partnerships, including Roll Back Malaria (RBM) and Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, to better inform decision-making with country-level perspectives.

Voices team members in Africa and the U.S. also chair the Malaria Advocacy Working Group (MAWG) of RBM, together with European advocates, to coordinate global efforts and messages around key international advocacy opportunities, facilitate information-sharing, and ensure the MAWG serves as an advocacy resource to the emerging needs of the RBM partners. Additionally, under Voices leadership, the MAWG launched an Africa Advocacy Task Team to promote endemic country efforts to scale-up, remove bottlenecks to malaria commodities, and coordinate activities across the region.
